Privacy Notice

Fonix Mobile Limited provides the text donation service for us. Your information (mobile number and donation amount) will be collected and will only be used to process your donation, provide receipts, process any refunds as necessary, manage failed donations as necessary, process Gift Aid claims and in order to help analyse our income. Our lawful basis for this processing is that it is in our legitimate interests (and we don’t believe this unreasonably impacts on your rights or freedoms). Any additional information provided as part of the Gift Aid declaration (first name or initial, surname, address and postcode) will only be used for the purpose of claiming Gift Aid and in order to help analyse our income. How to donate by text

You can donate to Cash for Kids by texting the below key word to the relevant number (the “short code”). Each text message you send will result in a donation to Cash for Kids of the amount listed in the “Donation Value” column. For example, by texting “KEYWORD” to “70920”, you will donate “£20”.

Text messages cost the Donation Value, plus your standard network message charge (based on your service provider rates). This service can only be used from a UK mobile and does not include Channel Islands or Isle of Man mobile networks. If you donate using this service from a UK mobile abroad you may incur additional network charges. This service can only be used during the relevant campaign start and end date/times. Donations can be made online all year round at http://www.cashforkids.uk.com/locations/

Cash for Kids and their sub-contractors, subsidiaries and/or agencies cannot accept any responsibility whatsoever for any technical failure or malfunction or any other problem with any telephone network or line, system, server, provider or otherwise which may result in any text not being properly received.

If your keyword and short code are valid and your text message is received within the specified times and dates, you will be charged the Donation Value via the reply confirmation text message(s) and your donation will go to Cash for Kids (with the exception of Vodafone customers and some EE customers who will be charged the Donation Value directly via their bill). It may take some time for you to receive the confirmation text message(s). Unless a cap applies (see below), each valid text you send will result in a charge of the Donation Value plus your standard network message charge, regardless of when you receive your confirmation text message(s). Any repeat texts will result in repeat donations.

You can send a text donation between the campaign start date and the campaign closing date. Please ensure you spell the keyword correctly and send your text message to the correct number.

If your keyword or short code is invalid, or if your message is received outside the times and dates of the service, you may not receive a confirmation text message but may still be charged your standard network message charge. You will not be charged the Donation Value as you will not be donating to Cash for Kids. However if at any point you receive confirmation text messages then you will be donating to Cash for Kids: you will have been charged your standard network message rate and charged the Donation Value.

Where donations are associated with challenges, your donations are independent of the success or failure of the challenge.

You can donate a maximum of £30 using the same keyword and short code from the same mobile telephone number in any one day (midnight to midnight). If you try to donate more than this using the same keyword and short code from the same mobile telephone number in one day, you will still be charged your standard network rate, but will not be charged the Donation Value and will not be donating to Cash for Kids. Also note that pre-paid customers who are trying to donate £20 or £30 but have insufficient credit, may only be charged £10 or £20 (as applicable).Your text will be charged at the value of the donation plus one message at your standard network rate (based on your service provider rates).

All supporters must obtain permission from the bill payer before sending a text message. If you are under 16 years old, you must have your parent or guardian’s permission to send a text donation to us.

Cash for Kids reserves the right to change these terms and conditions at any time without notice. We will post our updated terms and conditions on this website so please check regularly for any revisions. The applicable law is that of England and Wales.

Data Protection

Your data will be handled in accordance with GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018 and will only be used to keep you informed about our fundraising, activities, events and services. We will not share your information with any third party organisations except where such transfer is a necessary part of our activities, or we are required to do so by operation of law. Gift Aid

Your donation may be eligible for Gift Aid. We may contact you on the mobile number you used to give you the opportunity to add Gift Aid to your donation. If we send you a link to a page where you can submit your details then, as with any mobile browsing, you may incur charges from your network provider. If we ask you to text those details, then a standard network message charge (based on your service provider rates) will be incurred.


Cash for Kids takes the care of our donors very seriously. Please contact us regarding potential refunds in the first instance.

We reserve the right to investigate any customer refund claim and validate the basis of the request.

If a refund claim is deemed valid, we'll reimburse the claimant the donation value (the "service charge") and may at our discretion reimburse the access charge if one has been levied.
